About the Event
WALK A MILE FOR PEACE !
In 1965, protesters engaged in a 50-mile walk from Selma to Montgomery. The action spanned several days and led to the passing of the Voting Rights Act by illustrating unquestionable support for equal rights. In 2024, join us in a demonstration of solidarity as we each embark on a one mile walk to combat gun violence in Selma and bring awareness to this epidemic that is plaguing our nation.
Over the five days between March 1 to March 5, 2024 join with people around the world to make a statement about what peace means to you. Walk as an individual or organize group walks within your community.
Lace up your shoes and walk for one mile alongside like-minded individuals who believe in the power of peace. Don't miss this opportunity to be a part of something truly special and participate in this incredible event promoting peace, unity, and nonviolence.
